Cambridgeshire based company Monument Joinery approached me to design a new corporate identity for their business. Originally they started out making frames for timber windows but expanded into making stair cases and furniture and needed a logo combine this. Offering elegant and bespoke joinery services, it was important to reflect high quality to target a higher premium for services they carry out. Researching different wood joins and carpentry, I wanted to create a bold icon to reflect the scale of the word ‘monument’ and also combine a joinery element. Fusing a dovetail joint with a bold capital ‘M’ coloured with a navy blue and gold resulted in a simple, effective and engaging letterform.
