Museum of Brands, Advertising & Packaging Visit

I try to get down to London once every couple of months to check out exhibitions thats are going on. A couple of weeks ago I popped down to London and visited the Museum of Brands, Packaging & Advertising. Considering the small size of the museum (compared to other London museums), this treasure trove of packaging and advertising stretching from the Victorian era through to present day was massive and a sight to behold. I was there roughly two and half hours adding to my knowledge of how packaging, advertising and design in general has evolved through technical advancements and cultural influences. Highlight for me was the 1950/60’s section when the science fiction and the space race blasted off and started to influence modern culture from packaging to board games and toys, which continued up to and beyond the Star Wars toy revolution in the late 70’s and early 80’s. Only £9 for admission, all in all I thought it was a bargain to get a retrospective of some of the world most well known brands and definitely recommend it. Check out their website www.museumofbrands.com. @MuseumofBrands
